Every psychotherapist on this directory has their license verified against the state board that issued it.

What we check

• License type and number
• Issuing state
• Current status and standing
• Expiration date

What we do not check

• Clinical quality, outcomes, or whether a therapist is a good fit for you
• Insurance network status for your specific policy
• Anything a state board does not publish
• Malpractice history, which most boards do not surface in a public lookup

We will attach a badge to each therapist, whose credentials are up to date.

Verification confirms that a license is active and in good standing on the date shown on the profile. It is not an endorsement of clinical quality or a recommendation of one therapist over another.

A license can be removed due to disciplinary reasons, after we check it; however, we do verify credentials, inclusive of liability insurance, every 4 months and before every expiration date of licensure.
